Welcome! This is the place where I will almost certainly indulge myself with a few comments and personal thoughts about photography. With a bit of luck, some of it may be of interest to others! I will be adding to my gallery of photos as time permits. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I enjoy producing them.
Much will depend upon my personal experiences. I am limited with what financial resources are available to me but I do have one great asset available – time. I will not be trying to induce readers to buy any particular piece of hardware or software and I won’t be trying to get you to to enrol in any training courses. There are far too many people trying to do all of these things in my opinion.
However, I hope that you will indulge me if I share some thoughts on some of the things that I learn as time goes by along with the occasional review of software. There are some great pieces of software available to assist photographers nowadays but it is easy to find yourself floundering from one piece of software to another and totally destroying any semblance of workflow! (Again, just an opinion but born out of experience.)
Hardware is a different matter. Like many who are keen photographers who have progressed beyond a simple ‘point and shoot’ camera, I have settled on a particular system. In my case, I am using a Micro four thirds system. I cannot afford to keep updating my camera bodies and so I have stuck with a Panasonic DMC-G2 and the later Panasonic DMC-G6. I am slowly trying to build on my collection of prime lenses having just added a 14mm F2.5 pancake lens. I hope to post later on the reasons why I am so keen on various prime lenses. There won’t be many surprises but my observations will, as I have already intimated, be based on personal experience.
I won’t dwell any longer on what is to be my inaugural post. Please feel free to comment.
